Port Nelson, located at the top of the South Island of New Zealand, averages approximately 3 million tonnes of cargo per year. As the gateway to one of New Zealand’s premier wine regions, Port Nelson’s major export commodities include forestry products (logs, sawn, and processed lumber), seafood, pip fruit, and wine.
An administrative building in the Port Nelson facility required a reliable backup power solution that would provide stable supply during an outage. Any downtime, caused by an outage, could result in major delays and logistical issues. PowerLink’s leading distributor on the South Island, Current Generation, were the best choice for this project.
Current Generation installed a PowerLink 100kVA diesel generator as a backup supply for the administrative building. Featuring a renowned Cummins engine, the GMS100CS-AU generator is durable to suit all weather conditions and will provide a stable power supply for the busy port.
